Meet Your Guitar Craftsman
My name is John and as a trained Luthier*, I started building and repairing guitars in about 2010 after being a more traditional woodworker for many, many years. Aside from my own private study and development of my skills in the lutherie craft I have also sudied under several famous luthiers. I have attended several programs taught by Charles Fox at the American School of Lutherie, in Portland, Oregon.
I have also studied under Robert O’Brien, O’Brien Guitars, in Parker, Colorado. Most recently I completed the Master Luthier course of study at the Galloup School of Guitar Building and Repair, in Big Rapids, Michagan. It was a rich and wonderful experience in which I improved my skills as a luthier vastly. Bryan and his staff are true Masters of thier Craft!
Whether you need a custom built guitar, expert repair, or need a vintage instrument restored, I will complete the work professionally and to your satisfaction. I will not take on any project that is beyond my skills and training.
* luthier – a maker of stringed instruments, as violins. (origin: 1875-1880 < French, equivalent to luth (lute) + ier)
Instruments For Sale
I currently have many fine, hand-built instruments constructed over the years for personal use, education, training or on speculation – just waiting for the right buyer.
These instruments include several types of guitars including a classical (pictured below) and an electric archtop. Some of the instruments are brand new and some gently used. Several have custom appointments that would be an additional cost when ordering a newly built guitar from my shop.

Custom Built Guitars
My mission is to craft instruments for my clients that are not only beautiful, but very responsive to my clients need for high quality tone and musicality, as well as playability.
Only the best available materials are used and each instrument is carefully and thoughtfully hand-crafted and finished. Each soundboard is selected and tuned for optimum performance for your instrument using the most up-to-date methods available. The result is a unique instrument with tonal balance, projection and sustain.

Repairs & Restoration
Whether you need a basic fret dressing, saddle adjustment, set up, or complex repair, I will repair your guitar as expertly as possible to return your instrument to proper playability and function. All repairs will be explained, discussed and agreed upon before work is initiated.
Every effort will be made to keep the cosmetics and appearance of the instrument as close to the original look as possible. Please understand that complex repairs and/or severe damage may make it difficult or impossible to preserve a flawless cosmetic appearance on the guitar.
